Our needle winding technology

Needle (or nozzle) winding technology is the ideal choice for the production of closed stators because it allows the wire to be wound around the poles even in very narrow slots. The process can be applied also to outer slot stators and wound rotors, reaching astonishing results in terms of filling factor and precision.

At Marsilli we have mastered needle winding for years and have developed a revolutionary technology mounted on Ne|W machines.
With Marsilli’s needle winding process, there are incomparable quality and precision in wire handling, which ensures a very high filling factor in the customer’s final product. All this combined with the possibility of delivering to the customer a winding machine completely tailored to his production needs.

Our Ne|W is the stand-alone version of our advanced needle winding machine. It can be delivered with 2, 3 or 4 needles, and can be upgraded also in a second step. It has been designed to be applied as a stand-alone machine and with the appropriate configuration it can be integrated into a production line.

We have also developed a solution for Lab applications, pre-series and low volume production: the Ne|W One, available in single/double head version.

DIFFERENT PRODUCT TYPE

The Ne|W Stand Alone will be able to work with the following product type:

  • – inner straight slot stators
  • – inner skewed slot stators
  • – outer stators straight and skewed slot
  • – upper routing
  • – lower routing

All types can be run simply changing the program and tooling between the different modes for changeover.

WIRE GUIDE TUBE POSITIONING

In the basic configuration Ne|W has the wire guide fixed in horizontal position.
In option, it’s possible to apply a motorized tilting movement that allows to execute either upper and lower routing and simplify the wrapping and routing operation.
The wire guide is programmable on all positions from +90° to -70°.

TENSIONER CLOSE TO NEEDLE

It is important for the winding quality to grant a correct wire tensioning. The best way to do this is to apply the tensioners just before the application point. Marsilli have realized its equipment with the tensioners positioned on a side of the needle, respecting this concept.

There is also the possibility to have two different types of tensioners for each head to manage two different wire tension ranges (on the 2-400 spindle version only). This option allows a fast retooling and also extended wire range.

PROGRAMMING

The Ne|W is delivered with innovative software, conceived to allow to autonomously re-program the machine thanks to a user-friendly interface.

  • – indexing error
  • – trajectory optimization
  • – vertical stroke
